The Challenge
With several sites across Scotland, the main challenge facing the NTS is how to support and monitor all locations from a centralised network. Having several sites within remote locations adds additional complexity.
NTS approached Signal IT Solutions to assist with the design and implementation of a centralised network architecture which was scalable but cost-sensitive.
The Solution
Signal IT Solutions designed a network based on the Ruckus ICX switch range with a mixture of stacked core and edge switching. The flexibility of the ICX range combined with its proven durability allowed for a simple, dependable deployment in the remote sites whilst the core switch stacks provided high bandwidth throughput with simple stacking capabilities.
The Outcome
The solution implemented by Signal IT Solutions utilising Ruckus technology has provided the baseline of the NTS network future-proofing it for the next 10 years.
